Last night we went to Joel and Melissa's for some dinner. Kylie adored them and loved running around their house. Thank you both for dinner and you did an amazing job on your Make Over Home Edition! M & C
It is our favorite place to be in Orange County. It's where we got engaged, where we go on major holidays to eat, we have taken at least 100 walks around both big and small islands and we are now trying to pass on the tradition to Kylie. She loved walking by everyone's dogs and saying hi to them.

My good friend Heather had some free passes to the Santa Ana Zoo and invited us for the day. It felt like it was 100 degrees, but was only around 80. Kylie loved seeing the monkeys and petting the goats. Reed and Benny love Kylie and are so gentle with her. They watch out for her and make sure she is always smiling. Thanks for a great day at the zoo! M
Kylie had a blast running around naked and wet trying to run towards and then away from the water. And just look at that big belly! You gotta love naked toddlers! M
Today we went to visit my dad and decided to get him out of the house, go out to lunch and walk around the beach in Dana Point. Kylie finally warmed up to the idea of walking on the sand, and then went straight for the water. She is a total water girl and was fasinated by the very small waves. We had the entire beach to ourselves and my dad loved watching Kylie explore the beach. Not sure if you can see her bloody scrape on her nose, but she fell again, and as usual, while trying to figure out how to walk down a hill. I have seen more bloody noses, scrapes & gums in the past few weeks of this learning how to walk phase than ever! M
My good friend Lisa and her husband Calem welcomed their baby boy, Jordan, into the world last Friday. They decided to have the sex of the baby be a surprise, and I can't wait to meet him Sunday. M
Today we went to visit my dad who lives right near the beach in San Clemente. It was a beautiful day so after catching up with my dad, who is doing really well, we went to the beach. We were the only ones enjoying the sunshine, waves and weather. But, it was almost Kylie's nap time and she wanted nothing to do with the sand, playground or beach. We would try to put her feet in the sand, and she threw a tantrum, screamed bloody murder...it was so funny. Oh well, we will again try next time. M
Kylie's 1 yr check up
Kylie got her 1 yr check up. She is 18 lbs. , 29 inches, and very independent. Of course her weight was the topic of conversation b/c she eats a ton, but she doesn't gain a lot of weight...like her father. She really is just more petite for her age and height. But the doctor did not have any concerns with it so we don't either. She has been taking steps for a month now, but decided to start walking exactly the night of her birthday. It is fun to see her walk, fall into things, get back up, try again, and then do it all over again and again. She is a pretty tough when it comes to getting hurt too. She really is becoming a toddler and is understanding ideas and concepts much more. She finally gets her sign language and has taught herself how to climb on everything! She claps to music, loves to play instruments and tries to sing along with Casey and I. God has blessed us with a happy, healthy baby girl who is the most entertaining little person on earth! M
On Monday, we decided to keep celebrating Kylie's birthday and take advantage of our annual Disneyland passes. We went on a ton of rides...Dumbo, Story Book Land, Winnie the Pooh, Monsters Inc. and our favorite...Toy Story. Her favorite ride is Winnie the Pooh.
